Cleaning 2.0T Intake Valves

Post by latrace » Wed Oct 08, 2014 10:45 pm

Hey all,

Recently purchased a 2008 A3 S Line 2.0T with 80K miles, and after having it for about a week, I've noticed that it's having a lot of cold start issues and some misfiring. Overall, the car is in excellent shape, but I don't believe the previous owner had ever gotten the intake valves cleaned out. After doing some research, I'd like to get this done, but unfortunately, it's a little out of my skill range and I'd prefer a professional do it. I've called a number of shops in the city and no one really seemed to understand what I was asking. One guy recommended that I just do a Seafoam clean, but it seems like there's been a lot of mixed results about Seafoam, and again, the car has 80,000 miles, so I think it'd be best to just get in there and clean it out by hand. Thanks a bunch in advance.
