What happened, I thought the terms lasted for 2 years? Are people just stepping down?

We changed the Bylaws to keep somewhat of a fresh aspect of the board, and so the whole board is not burnt out for the second half of the second year.

Yep. The goal is to avoid a 100% turnover in one election to maintain consistency and efficiency in club operation. Terms are still 2 years - except for those currently holding the positions up for election.

I appreciate the nomination for Director but like Tim has stated, my membership expired in August. To be honest, at this point I don't think I have the time to dedicate to the Director position and if I can't give 100% I think I would be doing the club a dis-service. However, if someone were to nominate me for the Communications Director position I would be more than happy to say yes.

I'd like to nominate Doug Hillman for Motorsports Director. He's just gettin' the hang of it after one season. I'd like to see Trevor as Doug's asst. get a chance to learn the ropes before we turn him loose on his own. I suspect the largest chunk of the club's yearly expenditures pass through the Msprt. Dir. office.

I'd also like to see Doug Hillman back, I have only been to the Treffen Autocross and the Fall Gingerman. But both times, Doug was extremely helpful. Also I dont think that anyone could have handled the Fall Gingerman event any more smoothly than Doug did.

Ditto Doug also has a good appreciation for the need to emphasize and inprove safety in our events.

To the general membership:I would like to gracefully decline my nomination for Motorsport Director.I am both honored and flattered by all of the wonderful things that have been said about my tenure as Motorsport Director in the past few days. I had no idea that people thought enough of my efforts to have me continue in my present position. With the growing success of my personal business, I will not be able to devote enough time to do both of them justice.I have spoken to Trevor and have let him know he will be able to depend on me for assistance in springboarding his turn at the wheel of the Motorsports Director position. I plan on being active in future club events, just not at my current commitment level.I look forward to seeing all of you at the first Gingerman event next spring!Respectfully Yours;Douglas Hillmann
