Problem with brake

Post by wabbit » Thu Jan 17, 2013 7:15 am

hi,
my sweet VW is having some problems lately and I've been told I have to change my brake system. what do you think of http://www.parts4euro.com/DCShop/produc ... ts_id=1556 ?

Should they be easily changed at any service?

Hmm what "problems" are you having that you need to upgrade to a 6-pot brake system...? At most I'd recommend getting OEM rotors, better street performance pads(Hawks, StopTech, CarbonTech), TyrolSport caliper bushing set, new and better fluid (ATE Super BLue), and stainless lines.

Unless you're tracking your car on a weekly/monthly basis you won't be needing a $3k brake kit.

Well... Alcon, GT Brembo, Wilwood, Ksport are many of the top of the line big brake systems today.. expensive and HEAVY!
Big brake kit are made for track, and serious racing...

I got for myself an deal on Ebay from StopTech.. front and rear, rotors and pads.. great stopping power for under $500
