code PO501 on 96 vr6

Vehicle Speed Sensor Range/Performance ??? I tried to find it on the vortex without any luck..any idea where to look or what has to be done to clear this code ???

Have you noticed the speedometer going goofy? If so, either the sensor is shot or the wiring to it.

you can easily check both with a DMM, the wiring (while disconected go from each pin the the terminal at the ECU or you can just test the AC output voltage by back probing it or using a scanner...and if you have no clue as to what i'm talking about... you can give either VFC Engineering ( ) or mobile one a call.

Where is this code from? That isn't a VAG-COM code that I have seen. Has anyone (like Doug from VFC) scanned it?

like Conrad questioned the speedometer is working good not goofy...This car also had the low signal from the MAF....I cleared both and we are just waiting for them just to come back he has had the car driving two days and has not got them back yet so we will see in the next couple of days........will keep it updated
