There are two goals that over ride all others.
win IT Spec-tacular at Mid-Ohio in August
win American Road Race of Champions at Road Atlanta in November
Between those two events that is 5 races (3 race format at Mid-O, 1 sprint race at RAtl, but why not run the enduro on Sunday also since we are there...). If I run the full CenDiv schedule, that adds another 17 races at Blackhawk, Road America, Milwaulkee Mile and Brainerd MN. Unfortunatley the two RAm weekends are before and after the MO weekend, so I may only be able to do one (or if things go bad none) of those.
No matter how I look at it, this will be a busy year, especially with a new position at work requiring more travel and starting an evening MBA program.
Fabricate kick ass front air dam and splitter
Extensive dyno testing of new header and exhaust designs
Digifant/Megasquirt conversion and dyno testing
Fix dents and stuff on the right side of the car
Fix holes and stuff in the floor of the car
Flow test multiple heads, manifolds, throttle bodies to optimize the intake performance.
Basically anything to help the straight line performance of the car...
Prep 4 door Jetta tub (on paper better aero than the 2d Golf) - ideally swap drivetrain between cars for RAm weekends and collect data to verify whether J is the right choice.
It is a mountain of work, in addition to helping develop an S1 race car for a friend.
If anyone has a legitimate interest in motorsports, and wants to get involved on the front lines this year, let me know. We can use crew support to complete the projects and crew support at race weekends. The pay consists of fun, satisfaction, some beer , food on race weekends (and beer), track entry on race weekends, a tent to sleep in on race weekends, and some fun gear head time in the Garage Mahal.
Let me know if you are interested. Yes I'm serious.
It takes a lot of effort to run at the front, and we plan to win at the front this season.
