You took off the intake manifold for spark plugs?! :slap:
You can delete the EGR, SAI, and the evap stuff to clean up your bay a bit. Its 95 so no worries about emissions. Get a GIAC chip from tt to make cel go away after you delete that stuffs. Go to a sports store and get some hockey pucks to make new engine mounts with.

Here's a teaser:
The first person that can correctly guess what wheels they are and what car they're originally from, I'll buy them White Castle or Home Run Inn for lunch during 3rd Autocross this Sunday at Maywood Park: http://forums.chicagovw.org/viewtopic.php?f=18&t=13400.

Audi 80 5 spokes?

Edit: Which is to say, unless you're running adapters, they're Fox/Coupe/4000/80/90 wheels.

Close!
Hint: I will have to run adapters in order for these wheels to fit.

Oh, in that case, they're Audi 100 5 spokes. :bananadance:

Two days ago, I swapped in the new coilovers. I decided on Racelands only after reading many reviews on a number of different forums (BimmerForums, VWVortex, Audiworld, Toyota forums, etc.) and came to the conclusion that at this time, the Cabrio doesn't necessitate paying for H&R's or a high-end suspension. I'll save my $$$ for my Rabbit.

I installed everything myself and since it was my first time installing any type of suspension on any type of car, I'm a little worried on how I did.
I consulted my Bentley manual and numerous DIY's, but I may bring it to M1 just to give it a once-over. It's kind of bizarre to do this work my own for the first time and not have anything go wrong... I keep expecting something to break.

This is what each shock looked like, and the struts weren't any better:
Image

Here's after I installed the suspension (15 threads left in the front, 20 in the back):
Image

This was way too low for me, so I raised the suspension about 10 threads. I took it for a test drive down my steep driveway and around the neighborhood and didn't hear anything rattling or smelled anything burning from rubbing. So far so good.

Driving around today, the brake pedal unexpectedly went to the floor and now the car is up on jack-stands in the garage.
My master cylinder is bone dry and I'm attempting to locate the location of the leak.

I went with the Raceland Ultimos, yes.

I also found the brake leak - the right rear hard brake line. I purchased and bent that one the best I could, then bled the brakes with fresh DOT4. I was back in business!

I'm trying to decide what to do for Eurowerks this year. Should I take the Rabbit again or should I bring the Cabrio? If I bring the Cabrio, in what state should I bring it? As in, should I replace the fenders, fix the various scratches, fill the license plate holes? It's not a show car, but I'll attend the show and spend the rest of the time at the in-laws for the following week. The clear coat is peeling and I just question how much money and effort I want to put into the car...

:hmmm:

If I where you I would replace ALL steel brake lines in the back, also replace the 4 rubber rear lines... my 438k mile Passat was in similar shape but the lines didnt leak yet. I replaced everything from the proportioning valve back. I would also suggest pressing in some new rear beam bushings into the suspension, they are shot on all MK2-MKIV cars after 120+K miles.

I need a garage!! Its so much easier to get motivated when you have space.

Are you going to eurowerks?

I'm planning on going to Eurowerks. Everything is right on schedule. I am work on the Cabrio a lot after work/before bed because it's been cooler at night. Here are some updates:

Sanding down the bumper scratches and discovering high and low spots on the dent-ridden hood:
Image

Sanding down the driver's side door and also fixing the rust issue on the front and rear of the door:
Image

Hail damage is the worst!
Image

All better in primer. Also notice replacement fenders from a donor '95 Wolfsburg Cabrio from New Orleans!
Image

Tonight I plan on jambing out the fenders, doors, and hood.

What's up next week? I am getting my UrS4 Fuchs wheels refinished and then wrapping them in 205/40's. Windshield has a small divot and that is also getting replaced and I have a bunch of other small things that need to get tidied up around the car...

Well, it's too damn hot to work on the car right now or do bodywork, so it looks like I won't be going to Eurowerks.
However, I'm shooting for Dubs in the Valley!

Don't tempt me! :hmmm:

In other news, the UrS4 wheels are back from refinishing...

...and I just picked them up from being wrapped in Kuhmo 205/40's!
Image

I'm headed up to Minneapolis tomorrow through the middle of next week, so I'll pick up on the Cabrio when I return!
