I big friend of mine was in Japan this past 3 weeks and he asked me about getting new wheels for my GTI.. I said sureee!!!
He found this company who makes this amazing wheels called : ALPIL NEWING in Nagoya Japan
He bought the wheels and he arrived yesterday!!
I came to his house today to pick up my new wheels ($450 piece) .. WOW!!
They looks like VW Huffs but in steroids.. or staggered! LOOKS FREAKING AWESOME.. :w00t:
He said this is a new wheel from ALPIL in 18 inch size.. I don't know the specific name from this wheel... the box is all in Japanese language
I'm going to install tomorrow.. can't waitt!!!

look like huffs but slightly pointier on the inside of the openings to me. $450 a piece for a slightly pointier opening vs $450 for an entire set with a less pointy opening? to each their own i guess.

I think each brand new BBS Huffs are $350 a piece.. from VW
So I think to spend $450 for less 5lbs and unique look?.. not a problem

Btw, I did the weight this morning... using home scale..
the Alpil specs are.. 18x8 5x112 ET45 21.5 lbs each
my old VW BBS huff's are.. 18x7.5 5x112 ET51 26lbs each
I'm pretty happy with these wheels.. and they are ultra light! :bananadance:
here is some photos..

yeah BBS huffs are pricey new, but you can get them "used" that look new for under 500. also, 21 lbs is not ultra light for 18s. lighter than stock wheels, yes.

like i said above, to each their own.
