Ignition Key Repair

Post by mikewitas » Sun Jul 13, 2008 2:38 pm

The little metal clip that allows me to attach a key ring has seperated from the plastic remote-control key fob housing. This has happened on both sets of keys that came with my car (a 2002 VW Golf).

Is there an easy fix? Can I glue it back on using epoxy or some other glue? Or, must I buy brand new key fobs?

The remote lock/unlock functions work fine, so I hate to buy new ones if I can repair my existing ones.

Thanks in advance for your help!

Epoxy would be your best bet. It may end up being stronger than the original bond if you do it correctly.
