Free as long as you have a wooden bat already

My tires were rubbing when I hit dips & bumps but I didn't want to get smaller tires so I was going to have a custom body shop do it (who is part of the "A" team on Over Haulin) but the owner showed me how to do it myself. It may sound scary but as long as you take your time it won't even crack the paint. If I can do it on my BMP '99 Passat then you can do it as well. No more scraping in less than 20 minutes and for free!

I'll get some pics soon because it sounds worse than it is

First you take a wooden bat & stick it between the fender & tire. You may have to jack the car up some if you are loooooow like me. Then simply apply pressure down on the bat to put pressure on the inner fender lip & roll the bat slowly & smoothly on the tire. Thats it

Also, it works alot easier if you are willing to make a small slit on the fender on the inside where it meets the rocker panel on the bottom. Just use a die grinder with a cut off bit, or a dremel, and make a small slit front and rear from the edge of the lip to where it meets the fender. This allows for the metal to be moved much easier. It also doesn't hurt to take a heat gun and heat a few inches at a time to make the paint a bit softer and pliable.

If you feel like being brave, you can also use a square body hammer, tape a shop rag over it, get a dolly, tape a shop rag over that, and softly tap the fender lip(with the body dolly on the outside where you are pounding) starting where you cut it at the rocker panel. I have done this on numerous cars and have only had one instance of paint chipping when my impatient friend wanted to try it himself and started pounding on the fender.
